Dr. Becky Meyer is the Superintendent of Lake Pend Oreille School District. She has been working in education for over 30 years and was named the 2023 Idaho State Superintendent of the Year. She has served public education in various capacities including: Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning, Sandpoint High School Principal, LPO Alternative School Principal, K-12 School Counselor, and Career-College Advisor. Prior to “coming home” to LPOSD, Dr. Meyer was the Superintendent for six years in the Lakeland Joint School District. She is committed to authentic, strength-focused leadership. Her passion is empowering and encouraging staff and students, while evoking growth in learner-focused environments.
Becky is joyfully married to Jeff and has three girls. Each of their daughters graduated from Sandpoint High School; Kaylee is a recent graduate of Westminster Nursing School in Salt Lake City and currently resides in Japan with her husband Andre. Nan is a graduate of the nursing program at OHSU/Eastern Oregon University and is a practicing nurse in Boise, and the youngest, Grace, attended University of Idaho for her undergraduate, recently graduated with her masters and will begin doctoral work in criminology and behavioral studies from University of Cincinnati. When Becky is not working or spending time at school district activities, she likes to hike, snowshoe, and find adventures in the beautiful mountains of North Idaho!
