Carol Deaner was a sales and consulting services manager with Digital Equipment Corporation and NCS with a focus on the medical technology area. She also held the position of assistant professor and clinical coordinator for Chaffee College in California. After retiring, she focused her energy and talents on her two main interests – art and a sense of community. These interests have led her to become the past president and vice president of visual arts of the Pend Oreille Arts Council, past chairman of the board of the Memorial Community Center of Hope, chairman of the Sandpoint Arts Commission and board member for the Bonner General Hospital Foundation. She has also served as a school board member and city council person for Victoria, Minn.; docent for a number of art museums, including the San Francisco Art Museum; volunteer art instructor with the Kaleidoscope program; and president and board member for the California Society of Radiologic Technology.
