Colin Burnett was born and raised in Southern Oregon and attended Oregon State University earning his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering in 2002. He was lured to Sandpoint shortly after graduation by his then girlfriend (now wife) Shawnda, and has spent the last 20 years helping raise their two daughters and building a successful construction company in Bonner County.

While always a strong supporter of local causes and groups, Colin is working to become more engaged in the operations of programs that benefit both youth and the community as a whole.  The population growth in recent years has strained the school, technical training, sports court, and field facilities in region, and Colin is motivated to find ways to improve and expand these amenities.  He enjoys all of the outdoor activities North Idaho has to offer, and wants to ensure that future generations have viable employment opportunities and can afford to live in such a great area.
