Amy Longanecker

Executive Director

Moving to Sandpoint in late 2009 with three young children ignited a desire to have a positive impact on their future educations. With a little research, Amy heard about READY! for Kindergarten classes held by the Panhandle Alliance for Education (PAFE) designed to teach parents how to get their kids ready to start school. ‘I was so impressed with this program and loved walking out of those classes feeling empowered to be my child’s first teacher’. I found out it was fully funded by PAFE and knew I wanted to contribute back in some way’. Amy joined the PAFE team as Director of Resource Development and Events in January 2014 as a way to help other families enjoy those same resources. After almost eight years with the organization, she has stepped into the role as Executive Director and strives to support the mission even further. ‘It is so rewarding to see our community come together to support kids and education. I can’t think of more important work.’

Amy brings experience from serving as Executive Co-Director of The Downtown Athletic Club in Amarillo, Texas for many years before moving to Denver, Colorado, where she ran her own personal training business. Amy and her husband, Jameson, love spending time with their three active boys and have seen first-hand the positive impact of PAFE grants and programs within the schools.
