Marcia Wilson brings over 20 years of business leadership to the Panhandle Alliance for Education. She has served as the executive director since 2005, following an extensive career in international product management in the software industry. Results-driven, Marcia is a proven leader of people and projects with award-winning outcomes.
As executive director, Marcia champions the most enduring gift to our children – a great education. She leads the development of fundraising, community engagement and educational programs serving the students in the Lake Pend Oreille School District. Wilson shares her passion for education with the office team and 21-member board of community leaders. She is also one of the Panhandle Alliance Board members. She has earned the alliance multiple awards, including Outstanding Public Service Award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and the Friend of Education Award from the Idaho Education Association.
Marcia holds a Bachelor of Science from University of California, Davis, a Bachelor of Arts from U.C. Irvine, and attended graduate courses in information sciences at UCLA. She holds a certificate in nonprofit leadership from the Center for Management Development. Marcia resides in Sagle, Idaho, with her husband, Charles. Their two children attended Lake Pend Oreille schools and graduated from Sandpoint High School. Cristina graduated in 2013 from Washington State University; son Barry was a cadet at the U.S. Air Force Academy.
