Wendy Dunn is the mother of four children, all of whom attended school in the Lake Pend Oreille School District. Since moving to Sandpoint in 1993, Wendy has spent many hours volunteering with local youth, including coaching swimming, t-ball, soccer, basketball and volleyball. In addition to serving on the board of directors of the Panhandle Alliance for Education, she is involved in its Grant Committee, where she particularly enjoys working with teachers who have received grants. Interacting with children who have participated in grant projects has shown her what a difference this program makes in our schools.
Wendy’s involvement with the school district includes being a member of various PTAs, the former Site Council, the health curriculum committee and the facilities committee. She received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the Oregon Health Sciences University. Her nursing career included working in obstetrics at University Hospital in Portland, Oregon, and in pediatrics at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Washington. Currently she is the Medical Home project manager for Family Health Center in Sandpoint.
