In 2003, Betty Ann Diehl created an endowment with the Idaho Community Foundation (ICF) and designated Panhandle Alliance for Education as adviser to ICF on grant awards. She directed that projects support music and/or arts education in the Lake Pend d’Oreille School District. Betty Ann Diehl grew up in Sandpoint and graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1943. She left the area with her husband, Stan, while he ran the family lumber company. They returned in 1972.
Her gift is a lasting legacy to the students and teachers of the community she loved.
